With a batting average of .320, 21 home runs and 80 runs batted in, Steve Sørlie put the wraps on a tremendous season. Though the voting was far from unanimous, the 21-year-old Austin left fielder was an easy pick for the Rookie of the Year Award. Sørlie bolstered his claim with 153 hits, 28 doubles and 69 runs scored. He played in 131 games, walked 47 times and put up a .381 on base percentage.

Steve Sørlie let his numbers do the talking last month. In August the Austin Blues left fielder logged a batting average of .347, tallied 33 hits, torched 6 home runs and drove in 21 runs to claim the Colonial League Rookie of the Month award.
Sørlie is hitting at a .330 mark so far this season. He has raked 97 singles, 28 doubles, and 20 home runs, punching across 76 RBI to date. Sørlie has struck out 79 times, earning 43 walks for the year. He has a .389 OBP and an OPS of .922.

Travis Buffinton punched, poked, and pummeled the baseball last week, and today he garnered a majority of the votes for the Colonial League Player of the Week award.
